At Homewkrs.com we want you to buy with complete confidence. Every product we sell is backed by both your statutory rights under UK law and, where applicable, the manufacturer’s own warranty. This page explains what is covered, how we help with claims, and the simple steps to follow if something arrives damaged, defective or dead on arrival.
Manufacturer Warranties
Many of the items we stock — including generators, lawn-care equipment, BBQs, powered garden tools and other outdoor essentials — come with a manufacturer’s warranty. The length and terms of this warranty vary by brand and product, and the cover provided by the manufacturer is set out in the documentation supplied with your item. These warranties typically protect against manufacturing faults and component failures that occur under normal domestic use.
Where a manufacturer warranty applies, our customer service team will help you facilitate the claim. We can liaise with the manufacturer on your behalf, supply proof of purchase, arrange replacement parts where offered, and guide you through any service or repair process so you are never left to deal with it alone.
Your Rights Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015
Separate from any manufacturer warranty, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If a product develops a fault or does not match its description:
- Within the first 30 days, you are entitled to reject the item and receive a full refund.
- Within the first six months, if a fault appears it is presumed to have been present at the time of delivery, and we will offer a repair, replacement or refund.
- These rights apply in addition to, and do not replace, any guarantee offered by the manufacturer.
Items That Arrive Damaged, Defective or Dead on Arrival
If your order arrives damaged in transit, faulty, or dead on arrival, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery so we can put it right quickly. You do not need to return anything before your claim is approved.
To start the process, simply email Help@homewkrs.com with:
- Your order number and the name of the affected product.
- A short description of the fault or damage.
- Clear photographs (or a short video) showing the issue, and the outer packaging if it was damaged.
Once we have reviewed your photos and approved the claim, you may choose between a free replacement or a full refund — whichever you prefer. Where a return of the original item is required, we will arrange this at no cost to you. There are no restocking fees.
What Is Covered
- Manufacturing faults and defective components.
- Damage that occurred in transit before delivery.
- Items that do not work on arrival or do not match their description.
- Functional failures occurring under normal, intended domestic use within the warranty period.
What Is Not Covered
- Misuse, neglect, or failure to follow the manufacturer’s instructions, assembly or maintenance guidance.
- Normal wear and tear, including consumable parts such as blades, filters, belts and spark plugs.
- Accidental damage, drops, or damage caused after delivery.
- Unauthorised repairs, modifications, or use of incompatible parts or accessories.
- Damage from improper storage, weather exposure beyond the product’s rated use, or commercial use of products intended for domestic use.
How to Start a Claim
Email Help@homewkrs.com with your order details and photographs as described above, or contact us through our Contact Us page. We aim to respond within one business day. Approved refunds are processed within 7 business days of us receiving the returned item, where a return is needed.
